Thomas Henry Elwick, 76, Tennesssee Ridge, died Friday, April 4, 1997 at Royal Care Nursing Home, Erin.

The funeral was held Sunday, April 6 at Nave Funeral Home, Erin, with the Rev. Paul Sitton officiating. Burial was in Barnes Cemetery, Stewart.

He was born March 10, 1921 in Stewart County, son of George Elwick and Kennie Stavely Elwick.

Mr. Elwick was a farmer, a Baptist and a former Stewart County school bus driver.

Survivors include his wife, Mable Martin Elwick; two daughters, Janice Hamilton and Ann Barnes, both of Tennessee Ridge; two sisters, Lula Stavely, Dover, and Myrtle Bretzler, Erin; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mabel Elwick, age 95, of Tennessee Ridge, Tennessee went to be with her lord and savior on Thursday June 16, 2016, at Houston County Community Hospital.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday June 18, 2016, at the Hurricane Creek Baptist Church with Bro Robert Spurgeon and Bro. Bud Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Barnes Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Friday at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home, and from 11 a.m. until hour of services Saturday afternoon at the church.

Mabel entered this life July 22, 1920 in Stewart County, Tennessee, daughter to the late Levi and Onie McGee Martin. Mabel was a faithful member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents , Mabel was receded indeath by her husband, Thomas Henry Elwick; sisters, Neva Briouletta, and Loretta Willis.

Survivors include daughters, Ann Barnes (Jerry), Janice Hamilton (Donnie); grandchildren Jerry Wayne Barnes, Stacey L. Barnes, Derrick Hamilton, Jenine Wise, seven great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren.
