An inquest was held by Mr Shebbeare, on the 6th inst., at St Lawrence Wootton, on the body of Charlotte Elwick, a single woman, aged 24 years. The deceased was the mother of a bastard child, on whose body an inquest was taken by the same Coroner at Deane, about a month since, and who, on the 30th December, the day before the child was found, suspecting the fact, under strong excitement of the moment, ran into the dairy and there cut her throat with a table knife, nearly severing the windpipe, and she was found shortly after in a most exhausted state weltering in blood. Contrary to all expectation, she so far recovered as to be removed to her friends at Wootton, where she died on the 23rd inst.
